She loves them all, big and small. And they love her! Even our old boy Jake. He would patrol the fence line and would ordinarily bark at anything on the other side, but never at her. She could come right up and pet him.
Ever caring and thoughtful, she offered to make adoption signs for Baboon. A few weeks ago she came over to visit and was shocked to learn that Baboon had been adopted and got to meet Rubix. For Rubix, it has been a special friendship ever since.
Several times throughout the week, Rachel will come over after school to take Rubix for a walk. I strap on his harness and he can't wait! She walks him around the cul de sacs and introduces him to other neighborhood dogs. She reports back that he does great!
It's so cute to see how happy they are to see each other. Rubix, who is a [foster] momma's boy, greets Rachel with a big hug every time she comes over. He readily sits and waits for his harness and leash to go out on their adventures. They both have big grins and bounce down the sidewalk together. After each visit, Rachel thanks me profusely. I can't seem to thank her enough in return, it is such great socializing for him!!!
This past weekend was extra special for Rubix and Rachel. She came over to walk him twice on Saturday. On Sunday she walked him in the early afternoon then came over later in the day to play with Annie, Brady and Rubix in the backyard. Rubix had so much fun and was so tired he crashed on the couch. I didn't want to disturb him so used my camera phone.
Rachel played with them all in the backyard again today. None of them seem to notice the cold and I can hear the laughter and barks from inside. How lucky are we to have such a great neighbor?
